Black Rose Tango

Black Rose Tango
Title: Black Rose Tango
Director: Richard Kimmel
Original Languages: English, Spanish
Running Time: 13 minutes
Country: USA
Year: 2010

What happens at the 2010 Black Party, stays at the party. This abstract surrealist art film is intricately woven with glimpses of one of New York's largest BDSM parties, and is inspired by Evita and Kiss of the Spider Woman.  It tells the story of Rose Wood, a transgender artist who goes through the expressions of lust, love, betrayal and revenge - all of which are depicted metaphorically through the intrinsic elements of the party itself. Asia premiere!

This film will be screened on Sunday, November 20th 2011 at Indian Social Institute. Return to film schedule.

About Nigah

Nigah is a non-funded queer collective that works on issues of gender and sexuality. Apart from lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, we understand queer to be any identity, politics or process that challenges dominant norms. Based in Delhi since 2003, we try to create inclusive and safe queer spaces using media, workshops and discussions. We organise events each month and entry to all the events is free.
